- We have a feast of opportunities coming up in Canberra in March to help us be better at listening and pastoral care:
- Diocesan Centre for Lay Ministry and Mission-sponsored courses on Listening Skills (Saturday 10 March) and Visiting the Sick and Bereaved (Saturday 17 March), both at St Luke’s Deakin ($40 for each course, further details from dclaymin@goulburncathedral.org.au ); and,
- A Mary Andrews College one-day women’s conference on 3 March, organised by Bishop Robinson’s wife Jane and others, to be held at St Matthew’s Wanniassa on the theme “Who cares?”, with workshop sessions on pastoral care, grief, listening, identity and stress ($50 incl lunch, book online at www.mac.edu.au).
- Posters and some leaflets are in the narthex. Those involved in pastoral care work – either in the Care Team or participating in the Ginninderra Gardens pastoral care ministry – are strongly urged to take advantage of one or other of these opportunities to be encouraged and enthused as well as upskilled!!
